Pay Rate: $27.00/hr on W2
Note: Candidates must be located in the Battle Mountain area.
Position Description:
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a range of heavy earth-moving equipment-including dozers, loaders, backhoes, off-road trucks, graders, and rock drills-within a strip mining environment.
Key Job Functions:
Operate heavy equipment to move waste and ore materials.
Maintain accurate records of loads, fueling, maintenance, and related activities.
Perform routine operational maintenance (greasing, fueling, cleaning, checking wear parts).
Clean equipment tracks, buckets, and cabs using shovels, picks, and brooms.
Assist mechanics with basic mechanical repairs as needed.
Service equipment by replacing filters, lubricants, and wear parts.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb on and off equipment multiple times per shift.
Maintain focus during repetitive operational cycles for extended periods.
Lift, carry, and handle heavy tools and wrenches as required.
Work various shifts, including afternoons and graveyards.
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements using jacks, ratchets, chain hoists, and similar tools.
