Materials Manager | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
• Oversee material planning, scheduling, and procurement activities to ensure timely availability for production.
• Lead demand forecasting and S&OP processes to align material supply with production requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and cost-effectiveness of materials.
• Implement and maintain robust MRP/ERP systems for accurate material tracking and data analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in material flow, warehouse operations, and logistics.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turns, material availability, and supplier performance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience (5+ years) in materials management or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for inventory management, procurement, and production planning.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, demand forecasting, and production scheduling.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CSCP or CPIM certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with global supply chain management and international logistics.
• Familiarity with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software.
